19–22 June 2026 | Summer Solstice Weekend
A non-retreat retreat in the Western Lake District
The Wellwood Gathering is for people who like the idea of a retreat, but not the usual format.
No packed schedule.
No pressure to be “on” all weekend.
No spending every minute with other people.
This is a lightly guided, nature-based long weekend with plenty of space to join in, disappear off for a walk, sit by the river, lie in a hammock, warm up in the sauna, or do absolutely nothing for a while.
Set on private off-grid land on the banks of the River Duddon, this is a stripped-back summer solstice gathering built around breathwork, movement, sauna, cold water, fire, nature and space. This wild area has been transformed naturally a bog to an “paradise”. We will have it to ourselves and I will be setting up the heated bell tent and saunas set up on the land by the river.
This is not a luxury retreat.
It is not polished, curated-for-Instagram or designed for people who want to be seen.
It is a basic, beautiful, outdoor weekend for people who want:
nature over glamour
firelight over fake lights
proper downtime over back-to-back activities
simple practices that actually help you feel better
If you like your comfort, convenience and boutique extras, this probably isn’t for you. This isn’t a Farm Club or Soho House type experience, you might get muddy (hopefully we will see some sunshine but its not guaranteed). Its just an authentic, back to basics, in all-weather, nature-based weekend in a stunning valley.
What you’ll receive from me
All sessions are optional.
Across the weekend, I’ll be facilitating:
Morning movement, energising breathwork + sauna/cold exposure
A simple morning reset to wake up the body, clear the head and make use of saunas and cold dips.
The FitBreath Foundations workshop
A longer functional breathing session where you’ll learn:
how you currently breathe
what may need improving
how breathing affects stress, sleep, movement and cold exposure
You’ll leave with your own personal breathing plan to take away.
Evening move breath relax session including breathwork + sauna/cold plunge
A slower evening session to help you downshift, regulate and unwind, followed by sauna and cold if you want it.
Summer Solstice cacao + breathwork journey
A deeper guided session with journalling and over the solstice weekend, followed by sauna and cold plunge.
Potential laughter yoga or silent disco sessions
Optional, light-hearted and there if the group is up for it.
Alongside the guided sessions, there will be time for:
walking (potentially a group hike0
river dips or swimming
hammocks
reading
resting
campfire time
being social when you want to be, and disappearing when you don’t.
The structure
This is a lightly held weekend rather than a rigid retreat timetable.
Each day will broadly include:
a morning guided session
free time or a workshop in the day
use of the sauna / cold plunges / bell tent / outdoor space
an evening wind-down or deeper session
There will be enough structure for you to feel connected, but enough space to make the weekend your own.
Accommodation & camping
There are three off-grid accommodation options on site, alongside space for small-tent camping around the site. The bell tent will be available as a heated dry space during the day as well.
Accommodation options
Treehouse – double bed, outdoor kitchen,
Bothy / stone-built mini house – double bed, indoor kitchen
Wonky Willow – double bed (extra single roll out if needed) – outdoor kitchen
All three accommodations are off grid, uniquely beautiful and hand built, they have compost toilets that will be shared with the other guests. The bothy also has a shower outside and we will be bringing the basic camping showers for the saunas.
Each accommodation is priced per accommodation, not per person. I am pricing it at cost to guests to keep costs down.
Accommodation cost:
£85 per accommodation, per night
3 nights = £255 total per accommodationThese can be shared by a couple or two friends if that works for you, or booked solo if you want your own space.
Camping
£20 per small tent, per night
3 nights = £60 total
Retreat price
The Wellwood Gathering: £220 per person (first release price)
This covers the guided retreat experience across the weekend.
Then add your choice of stay:
Accommodation: £85 per accommodation, per night
Camping: £20 per tent, per night
Example costs
If two people share an accommodation:
£255 accommodation total, £127.50 each + £220 retreat price each= £347.50 per person. If one person books an accommodation solo:
£255 accommodation total + £220 retreat (first release) priceIf camping:
£60 camping + £220 = £280 retreat (first release) priceFood
This is a self-catered weekend.
Please bring your own food and whatever you need. I’m keeping food simple because once retreats start trying to cater for everyone, it becomes a minefield.
There may be one campfire cooking session as part of the weekend, but this is not a fully catered retreat.
Dogs
Dogs may be part of the environment, but I’m feeling this out based on the group.
If you’re interested in coming and have strong feelings either way — whether you’d love to bring your dog or would really prefer a dog-free setup — let me know when you enquire so I can get a sense of the group and shape it accordingly.
What’s not included
food and drink
travel to and from the site
camping equipment
towels / personal kit
Who this is for
This weekend is likely a good fit if you:
like being outdoors
want more space and less pressure than a normal retreat
enjoy sauna, cold water, fire, movement and natural settings
want to connect to your breath, body and mind as well as nature and others.
don’t mind off-grid simplicity
Who it’s probably not for
Probably not for you if you want:
luxury accommodation
a polished retreat venue
every meal provided
a minute-by-minute schedule
a “wellness but make it boujee” atmosphere
Booking / early interest
This is a small gathering and spaces will be limited.
I’m releasing these fuller details to the waitlist first before opening it up more widely.
If you want first refusal on one of the accommodation spaces, or you’re interested in camping, message me directly and I’ll send the next steps.
